Dr. Leonard was born and raised in Washington state. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University. He earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University. After graduating he moved to Utah to be closer to family. He is the father to two young boys. He also adopted a small mixed breed dog named Luna and a three-legged cat named Phoenix. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, hiking, snowboarding, and creating stained glass art.

Dr. Miller grew up in Iowa and Wisconsin. While attaining his B.S. in Animal Science at Brigham Young University – Idaho, he rubbed shoulders with large animal veterinarians during an externship back home in Wisconsin and knew that veterinary medicine was for him. After receiving his veterinary degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, he spent 6.5 years in the United States Army Veterinary Corps. He loved serving with and providing medical care for the military working dogs. His service grew a passion for leadership and mentoring others. After the military, he spent time in Page, AZ as a solo mixed animal practitioner, as the base veterinarian at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, and finally joined Canyon View Cares Veterinary Hospitals in northern Utah as a business partner.

Dr. Miller is excited about his current partnership with Hippo Vets Group and for the opportunity to mentor the next generation of all-star veterinarians in Utah! He loves spending time with his wife and four kids. They have two rabbits, and one dog named G.I. Jane, born on Veteran’s Day. He enjoys all things outdoors and most recently Spartan races.

Hello! My name is Dr. Tyson Wayment. I attended Brigham Young University where I obtained my undergraduate degree in Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation. I also served a church-service mission where I became fluent in Spanish, which has definitely been useful in my job. I then attended the Washington State University/Utah State University program where I received my DVM in 2021. Upon graduation I took a job here, at Canyon View Cares, and have been working here ever since.

I work as a mixed-animal veterinarian and love the variety of my job. My wife and I love being back in Utah and have enjoyed being back close to the mountains, as most of our hobbies involve being outside. We enjoy hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and anything that will take us outdoors. If you don’t find us up in the mountains we are likely helping out on my family farm growing crops and working cattle. We have one dog, 3 cats, a handful of cattle and 2 horses that we take anytime we go on our pack trips.

Our dog’s name is Quill, and he is basically my shadow at this point. He was meant to be my hunting buddy but has since developed a crazy fear of gunfire, which we are working through. But right now I am happy with taking him to work and having him by my side to assist in my silly adventures. As I said, I definitely love the variety of my job-seeing cows, goats, horses, dogs, cats and everything in between.

My wife always asks me what I want to be when I grow up; I keep telling her I haven’t decided and that’s why I continue to see and experience all I can! Maybe someday I’ll figure it out. Hopefully!

Madi is a Lead Technician with training from ESMT/KSMT who enjoys being deeply involved with her team and clinic operations. She started as a kennel technician and worked her way up, combining her love of animals and medicine into a fulfilling career. Madi has a strong interest in complementary therapies like red light, laser, and massage, and is especially known for her skill in back leg blood draws. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, and dog sports. She shares her life with her dogs Cinch and Wrangler, her horse Savvy, a tank of fish, and hopes to add a longhorn soon.

Ashlyn is a Veterinary Technician who will be attending veterinary school at Utah State University. She enjoys helping patients and educating clients on preventive care, including heartworm prevention and routine wellness. Ashlyn began her veterinary career at a clinic in Salt Lake and quickly found her passion for the field. Outside of work, she enjoys country swing dancing. She has a lively cat named Carl.

Sophia is a Veterinary Technician currently pursuing her Animal and Dairy Science degree at Utah State University. She enjoys learning from doctors and thrives in surgical settings, with skills in catheter placement, intubation, and orthopedic procedures. Her passion for veterinary medicine comes from wanting to better care for her own animals. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, tennis, and outdoor activities with her dogs. She cares for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and fish.

Talli is a Veterinary Technician with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management from Utah State University. She is passionate about helping and comforting pets and their owners, especially during difficult moments, and values continuous learning in the field. Inspired by her love of wildlife and medicine, she has experience in wildlife rehabilitation and client education. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, reading, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. She has a unique cat named Nala who loves belly rubs, playing fetch, and even riding a skateboard.

Aspen is a Veterinary Assistant with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Studies from Utah State University and plans to attend veterinary school. Inspired by her father, a small animal veterinarian, she has always known she wanted to follow a similar path. Aspen enjoys assisting in surgeries and is skilled in blood draws and catheter placement. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, video games, and camping. She has a playful orange cat named Oliver.

Melody is a Client Service Representative with training from Bridgerland Technical College who enjoys connecting with clients and their pets. She began her career as a kennel technician and grew into a client-facing role where she excels at communication, helping pet owners understand treatment plans and what to expect during visits. Outside of work, Melody enjoys music, including singing, dancing, and playing instruments. She has two dogs, Landry and Chief.
